    FAQ

As a patient of Balance Psychiatry, you will belong to a private practice where your physician gets to know you well, and continues to be highly invested in your health and well-being. From addressing very complex medical issues to maintaining your daily optimal health, you can expect at each visit to be cared for by Dr. Pandya who will partner with you to help you achieve all of your health goals. There are no crowded waiting rooms. There is no double booking of appointments. Your appointment time is scheduled for you and your care only. When you arrive at your initial visit, you will spend between 1 to 1.5 hours with Dr. Pandya, where she will walk with you through your medical history, perform a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, and discuss other potential testing and treatment options to begin the healing process and/or keep your health goals moving forward. Dr Pandya will typically schedule a follow up appointment with you within 30 days, based upon your individual treatment needs. During the follow up visits, she will review any initial laboratory tests that may have been completed and discuss a fine tuned, individualized treatment plan based on your tests and evaluation. Patients should expect to be active participants in the process. The beauty of functional holistic medicine is that it is truly personalized!
Our practice has chosen to focus on partnering with you, our patient, rather than with insurance companies and their requirements. Therefore, we will provide you with a “Superbill” receipt for you to submit to your insurance company as our practice is out of network for all insurance carriers. Based on your individual policy, you may be entitled to reimbursement from your insurance company to you directly for a percentage of your visit investments. Please contact your insurance company to see if this benefit is offered to you.
Keeping in mind the emotional and financial difficulties facing many of our patients at this time, we are offering limited time discounted rates for new patient evaluations. Please call the office for more details.

Yes we offer pharmaco-genetic testing. It is as simple as a cheek swab and results are available within few days. We can also send this test to your home for convenience.
At Balance Psychiatry, we use an e-prescribing system, for which the doctor will need the name, phone number, and address of the specific pharmacy that you wish to use. If you encounter a problem with your prescription, please leave a message for Dr. Pandya including your name, the medication and dose, the phone number of your pharmacy, your birth date, and your phone number. Prescriptions will be called in, or electronically sent only for current clients. Prescription management issues must be addressed during a scheduled appointment. These management issues include negative reactions or any desire to change any current medications you have been prescribed. For medication management appointments (once monthly or less frequently), when an appointment is postponed, it is possible that only one week of medication will be called in, or until the next appointment.

If a client continues to postpone appointments, I retain the discretion to provide refills only after the client is seen in a follow up session.
For our current patients, appointments may be canceled or rescheduled within a minimum of a 24 business hour notice. Any new patient appointments can be canceled or rescheduled prior to 7 business days.
